Each Wednesday, we feature a construction story, image or detail drawing from a past or recent project at Wilkus Architects. It’s our goal to generate conversation with these weekly posts so please comment below.
This week, we decided to mix it up a bit. The sketches and images below give you a sneak peek into the hole that we have designed and built for the 2014 Skyway Open Golf Tournament. We had a great team that developed a great design and spent many hours during the construction phase. Everything was done in-house. We can't wait to share and play the hole with everyone! The event gears up this weekend so grab your putters and we'll see you on the links!
Information from the U.S. Bank Skyway Open website:
“Grab your putters and hit the Skyways! The Downtown Network is pleased to bring the 8th Annual U.S. Bank Skyway Open Golf Tournament back to Downtown Minneapolis. The event, featuring 19 one-of-a-kind miniature golf holes, benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities. Golfers are invited out to the three-day event, held on Friday, February 21st, Saturday, February 22nd & February 23rd 2014.
This year the U.S. Bank Skyway Open is expected to bring over 1000 golfers to the downtown skyway system, and is designed to draw all ages – from downtown professionals to families looking for children-friendly activities. Friday’s participation includes access to the course and to the 19th Hole Celebration. Saturday will provide golfers with access to the course and many children’s activities & Sunday a last chance to hit the links!”
