Project Summary:
The $16 million, 17,000 square foot facility has a capacity to produce 1.5 million gallons a day. Because of state mandates to reduce salt in the wastewater stream the plant is equipped with the ability to reduce water minerals from 38-40 grains down to 5-7 grains thus eliminating the need for home based water softening systems. This process will reduce the chloride (salt) discharge by 75% to the wastewater plant. These chlorides are toxic to many aquatic species that reside in Pipestone Creek which is the discharge point for the wastewater plant.
